Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American journalist. Her current role is working as a sportscaster at ESPN who is also anchor for SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from age nine. Her skills were instrumental in securing her first job as a production assistant for Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she worked with the producers of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her first job was as reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist at KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley in Texas in which she was a reporter for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. In addition, she was an anchor for sports anchors and weather forecasters. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallasstation, which is where she is more responsible. She covered events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and the NBA Postseason and the finals for FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. Apart from that, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was promoted to anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She held the same position in Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo for the UniMas Network. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22 the 22nd of November, 1985. She has a sister. In 1992, the family left Mexico for the US and eventually settled in Miami. The couple divorced shortly after in 1995. Her mother was remarried to a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. The summer of 2006, she spent an entire week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. At the time of her senior year in high school but with a clear idea what she would like to accomplish for her life, Antonietta was able to visit the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her needs. The campus was stunning and offered the degree she sought. After graduation, she went to the university as an undergraduate major in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU, of which she's a member. They had a very close friendship. His passion for journalism and confidence in herself encouraged her. She, in turn attempted to live up to his standards and not disappoint him.
