Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican American broadcaster. She anchors SportsNation and is an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. She joined ESPN as a news anchor in 2016. She is the daughter television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been so since the age of nine. Her ability in this area allowed her to land her first position at Univision, Miami. She was able to work as a producer for national programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. She was hired as a reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. She moved in 2009 from Rio Grande Valley, Texas for work as a news reporter for The Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about immigration and drug trafficking in both Texas and Mexico. Also, she would fill in at times as a news and sports anchor. Later, she was anchor and reporter for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She also did segments on the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Aside from this she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She has been promoted to sports anchor on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She worked in the same position on Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collin's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually relocated into Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. There is an older sister. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and moved to Miami. In 1992, her parents separated then shortly thereafter in 1995 she was remarried Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer in the naval sector who died in 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. The couple stayed with her family in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer in which she was provided with the opportunity of a job. Antonietta is a senior in high school, yet she knew exactly what career path she wanted to pursue. So while assessing if Mount Union is the right choice to her needs, Antonietta decided to go visit the campus. As it turned out she was a fan of the university and the university offered the degree she was searching for. After finishing her high school education, she chose to go to the university with a major with Media Studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor - was also the manager at WRMU (91.1 FM) which was where she felt at home. Mark's passion for journalism and confidence in herself instilled confidence in her. She in turn, tried to meet his standards and not disappoint him.
